29 September 2026 – CityHub has announced plans to open its latest European hotel in Berlin, marking another milestone in the brand’s international expansion. The new location will bring CityHub’s tech-enabled, sustainability-led hospitality concept to the German capital, following successful launches in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Copenhagen and Reykjavik, alongside the recently announced Hamburg development.

Known for challenging the traditional hotel model, CityHub combines compact, design-led private Hubs with digital-first services and shared social areas. The hotel will feature 139 Hubs, including 122 standard Hubs and 17 accessible Hubs, alongside guest facilities including a sauna, shared bathrooms and social spaces.

The new Berlin hotel will be located at Leipziger Platz, in the heart of Berlin Mitte, one of the city’s most historic and well-connected neighbourhoods. Positioned at a landmark crossroads along the former border between East and West Berlin, the hotel will place visitors close to the capital’s most recognisable attractions, including Brandenburg Gate, Potsdamer Platz, Checkpoint Charlie, Museum Island and Tiergarten. The area offers restaurants, cafés, bars, cultural attractions and shopping destinations, while public transport connections provide access to the Kreuzberg, Friedrichshain, Neukölln and Charlottenburg neighbourhoods.

The project, in partnership with Columbia Threadneedle Investments, will see the conversion of approximately 2,100 sqm of existing retail space within a mixed-use commercial building, using adaptive reuse to bring new purpose to a previously vacant part of the property. The development reflects CityHub’s commitment to demonstrating how existing, out-of-use urban assets can be transformed into high-performing hospitality spaces without the environmental impact of a new build development.

Construction and redevelopment work is expected to progress ahead of a planned opening in Q4 2027, subject to confirmation.
